Real Wedding of Connie and Joren

One of my most favorite things about being an Event Planner is the amount of people I get to meet. From their first walk through, throughout the whole planning process, to the day of and then the after. It’s always the ultimate goal to make certain that things run smoothly. That the linens are set correctly, the chairs placed just right, but there is so much more to being an Event Planner. It’s that human connection you get the opportunity to have with the couple. You get to learn about people, work with them through their decisions, help them through their stresses. You get to form relationships and you get to experience their happiness. Not too many jobs go through that complete cycle and I am blessed to get to have that in my life.

I received this note from one of our bride’s from 2017. It warms my heart to know what we get to provide to couples and we are so thankful for our amazing clients! Enjoy!

“Living in San Francisco, we had plenty of options when it came to our wedding venue – from mansions, museums, and wineries, to fancy hotels.  However, nothing really spoke to us.  We knew that the venue and location would have to be just as special as our proposal in Kauai.

Just as I was very particular about finding the perfect dress, I knew that I had to find the perfect venue.  On a whim, my then-fiance mentioned Ashland, Oregon.  He had visited Ashland several times in high school, and so amidst the stress of wedding planning, we decided to take a quick weekend trip to Ashland.  While researching the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and activities, I stumbled across the Ashland Springs Hotel’s website.  The first second I saw a picture of the hotel, I knew that this would be the venue for me.  I reached out to Lora Wilde, the hotel’s Sales and Catering Manager, and she provided me with a packet and scheduled a tour of the venue.

The Ashland Springs Hotel was even more breathtaking in person.  The vintage elegance was exactly what I was looking for.  I gasped at the thought of all the lovely couples who got married there during the last nine decades, and the music, laughter, and joy.  I could almost hear these sounds from the past as Lora gave me a tour!  And despite it being a historic hotel, it was lovingly restored.  The English Rose Garden, with its beautiful gazebo and garden roses, was perfect for our ceremony.  The only dilemma we had was whether to host the reception in the beautiful Grand Ballroom or the breathtaking Crystal Room as they were both gorgeous.

We decided to choose the Ashland Springs Hotel after meeting and talking to Lora.  She was upbeat, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions.  I knew that it wouldn’t be easy planning from afar, but Lora was always responsive and available to answer all my questions and address each and every concern.  She walked me through the whole process.  As foodies, it was also very important to us that the food served at our reception be delicious and consisting of quality ingredients.  The extensive food options consisting of fresh, organic, and local ingredients was impressive.  Lora assured us that the food prepared by the hotel would be delicious, and she was right!

The wedding was everything I had imagined!  Although the day passed by so quickly, we were prepared every step of the way because Lora had answered all our questions and prepared us for the big day.  The decorations and setup were superbly done.  I gave Lora a box of decorations and she displayed them beautifully.  All the vendors went above and beyond as well.  All of our out-of-town guests marveled at the beautiful venue and the lovely town of Ashland.  After a wonderful job of coordinating the wedding, Lora left us in good hands with Jeff, who helped coordinate the reception.  All our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food.  It was a beautiful event.  Although the day has passed, the beautiful memories continue to linger.  It’s such a special feeling to be part of a long tradition of celebrations at this gorgeous historic hotel.  It was a dream wedding that we will never forget thanks to Lora Wilde and everyone at the Ashland Springs Hotel.
