Ashland Food Coop Community Classroom
– cooking class
Making Your Own Chocolate Lip Balms with Jody Berry
Saturday March 3, from 1:00-3:30 pm at the Ashland Food Co-op Community
Classroom, 195 A Street.
Make those lips more kissable than ever with the yumminess of chocolate. In this two-part class, we will first explore the health benefits of cacao, dark chocolate, virgin coconut oil and a myriad of other plant ingredients and essential oils used to create your own chocolate lip balm. For the second half of the class learn how to infuse honeys with the essence and fragrance of violet flowers, lavender, rose petals, elecampane, rosemary and other flowers and herbs. Use these delicious honeys in tea, on toast, as a cough syrup, as a face mask, or share as a gift. You will take home recipes, handouts, your own chocolate lip balm, and your own fragrant honey.
About the instructor: Jody Berry is a plant enthusiast, tractor fanatic, and sixth generation Oregonian. Her company - Wild Carrot Herbals emanates her passion for the outdoors and her inherent need to make lotion! Her creams look and feel like butter cream frosting, her sugar scrubs are all completely edible.
Class cost: $30 to the general public and $25 to co-op members
To register: 541-482-2237
