So much chocolate, so little time! Chocoholics young and old - it's your holiday again so mark your calendar! Spend first weekend in March celebrating wonderful Oregon chocolate products! The 6th annual OREGON CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL - a weekend long event will take place at the Ashland Springs Hotel and many other locations throughout downtown Ashland between March 5th and 7th, 2010.
Oregon Chocolate Festival attractions will include
Chocolate & Art Gallery Walk organized by the Ashland Gallery Association is scheduled between 5pm and 8pm on Friday, March 5th. Enjoy amazing art, local wines and chocolates. A great prelude to the weekend long chocolate extravaganza.
Chocolate Makers' Dinner (Friday, March 5th, 6:30pm). Damon Jones, the Executive Chef at Larks restaurant will present a delightful four-course dinner utilizing cocoa beans in each dish. Guest speakers: Oregon Chocolatier - Sarah Leaoni of Coco & Co. and Jared Rennie, owner & founder of the Noble Coffee Roasting Co.
Oregon Chocolate Festival Tastings - Over 30 Oregon chocolatiers will tease your palate with incredible variations of chocolate bars, truffles, sauces, delicious toffees, and local fudge. Try such unusual spicy combinations chocolate-ginger or chocolate-tequilla truffles. A square inch of pure decadence from the Coastal Mist or award winning chocolates from Lillie Belle Farms will surprise and excite everyone's palate! Tastings will take place at the hotel on Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 4pm. (One day pass $15)
ScienceWorks Hands on Museum - Explore the world of chocolate, from cocoa farms to chocolate bars, on Sunday March 7th from 2-3pm at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum. The event is suitable for families and children of all ages. Admission is $2.50 per person. ScienceWorks members receive a 2 for 1 discount! Regular museum admission prices still apply. What better way to get your daily amount of antioxidants than a glass of red wine and a piece of dark chocolate! Taste local wines, diverse roasts from Noble Coffee and yummy chocolate stout served on Saturday and Sunday at the hotel.

Deux Chat Bakery - Baguette Baking Class - Always wanted to learn how to bake baguettes? Now you have a chance. Deux Chat Bakery located just 3 blocks from Ashland Springs Hotel is offering a baking class during the chocolate festival. Learn to mix, shape & bake their signature chocolate baguettes. A three-hour class of fun, laughs and learning. The class will finish with a tasting of baguettes and a pairing of fruits and spreads. Chocolate Facial Spa Party - Gather with your friends for an hour of delight. The Waterstone Spa esthetician will show you how to give yourself a delicious & nutritious chocolate facial. A chocolate martini will enhance your experience! Martini bar with a limited line of martinis will be open both evenings & available only to the attendees!

Cocoa Loco at Harry & David Country Village - March 5-7, 11am till 4pm all 3 days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday visit Harry & David Country Village Store in Medford and enjoy tastings at five chocolate bars. From truffles, enrobed fruit, to chocolate port, beer, wine and chocolate fondue fountain!
Chocolate Dessert & Chocolate Product Contests - On Saturday local pastry chefs will submit chocolate creations to be judged by the guest judges, culinary celebrities and writers. Last year winners: chefs from Dragonfly Restaurant & Larks Restaurant. Additionally, each chocolatier is invited to submit their products into the "Best Oregon Chocolate Product" Competition.
"Beyond Chocolate Gifts Market" (at Ashland Springs Hotel). Vendors will showcase chocolate scented body products, soaps, candles, jewelry, and more. (Saturday & Sunday, open to all who present daily pass)
Noble Coffee Cupping &Educational Session - On Sunday, March 7th, from 7 to 8:30 am, Noble Coffee Roasting will host a session of coffee education including a tour of our roasting facility, a talk about the journey of coffee from seed to cup, and a cupping (tasting) to explore the diversity of the world's major coffee producing regions. (FREE)
